All About The Moon
The strong force of the Moon's physical cycle naturally affects life on Earth. Including tides, growth of plants, cycles of female fertility- its light exists only as a reflection of the Sun's. In its endless cycle of waxing and waning. the Moon represents change & potential, the countless amount of possibilities that we face throughout life. From the brightest phase of the full Moon, to the darkness of the new Moon, this planet represents the mixed feelings in us all. Alongside our potential for creativity, beauty, romance and kindness is the shadow side that lurks within our soul- the side that gives rise to fear and uncertainty, and sometimes unkindness and dishonesty. The Moon is the planet of nurture and for our ancestors, it governed the period of birth and infancy, the first of the "seven ages of man" described by Shakespeare. The Moon reveals our emotional qualities and our intuition, how we feel and how we react in emotional situations. It shows how we like to be treated and how we treat others. With the moon strongly placed in our chart we are likely to act protectively and defensively, until we feel safe. The issue is how to do this without seeming to reject the kind intentions of others. When we consider the Moon in the zodiac sign that appears in our birth chart, our way of reassuring others will become clear, as will the way we wish them to reassure us. Sometimes simply the chance to help and be understood will be welcome and enough. As the Moon reflects the sunlight, it may be wise to see ourselves and our actions in the eyes of others, and be open to adjusting our behavior accordingly. This way, we can nurture each other, harnessing the energy of the Moon to nurse the infant within us.
